The first thing you see next to any Lineage 2 private server is a number like x7, x50 or x1200. These are the rates — multipliers applied to the official values of the game. They decide how fast you level, how much adena you earn and how the whole server economy feels.
What rates multiply
| Rate | What it affects |
|---|---|
| EXP / SP | Experience and skill points from monsters — how fast you level |
| Adena | Amount of adena dropped by monsters |
| Drop | Chance or amount of item drops (materials, recipes, equipment) |
| Spoil | Rewards from the Spoil skill of Dwarves (key for crafting) |
| Quest | Rewards from quests, including class-change and sub-class quests |
| Raid Boss | Drop from raid and epic bosses |
A banner usually shows only the EXP rate. The other rates can be lower — for example “x50 EXP, x10 adena, x5 drop” — to keep the economy healthy. Always check the full table on the server website.
Low rates: x1 – x15
Closest to the original game. Leveling takes weeks, every piece of gear matters, crafting and trading are important, and clans compete for farming spots. Low-rate servers usually live longer and build strong communities, but they need a lot of time. Typical examples: x1, x3, x5, x7, x10.
Mid rates: x20 – x100
The balance point for most players. You reach the end-game in days or a couple of weeks, but the economy still matters. Mid-rate servers are popular for Interlude and High Five and often run seasons of several months.
High rates: x500 – x1200 and more
High-rate servers skip most of the leveling: you reach maximum level in minutes or hours, often with a “GM shop” where basic gear is sold for adena. The focus is on PvP, events, Olympiad and sieges. They are fun for short sessions, but seasons are shorter too. Numbers like x10k or x100k mean almost instant progression.
Special modes: GvE, RvR, PvP, Multiprof
- GvE (Good vs Evil) — all players are split into two factions that fight each other; PvE is secondary.
- RvR (Race vs Race) — factions are based on races.
- PvP servers — instant or very fast progression, all content revolves around fights.
- Multiprof / multiskill — you can learn skills of several classes; balance is very different from the original.
- Craft-PvP — usually mid rates with an emphasis on crafting your gear instead of buying it.
Which rate should you choose?
- 1–2 hours a day → mid rates (x25–x100) or a high-rate PvP server.
- 3–5 hours a day and you love the economy → low rates (x1–x15).
- Only PvP and events → high rates or GvE/RvR.
